First ever Extreme Weather warning isued in UK as temperatures seen reaching 33C

It is worth noting that the UK briefly has temperatures around 33 most years, but the Extreme Weather heat warning system was only introduced last year.

It's incredibly uncomfortable given the humidity though.

Yeah, from my loft-based office in normally traditionally windy and wet Yorkshire, I can report that the outside temperature is currently 26c and the office is a balmy 32c. Yesterday it peaked at 37c. The good news is that the roofers had left some new lead flashing to "soften" for a couple of days and it literally sagged into the shape they wanted.

By the weekend it should be back to "normal for Yorkshire" and I'll be really rather pleased...
