I wonder how much cheaper it would be to mount conventional solar panels as a roof over the bike path with a conventional slab of asphalt. Then it would stay clean, as well as providing shade.

I don't get the point of trying to turn roads into solar panels.

What problem is it even solving? We are not missing space to put panels on, we need to make them cheaper. This will only make panels more expensive and maintenance cost will rocket.

Its solving problem of funding. They can file this under innovation/experiment and transfer money to their friends.
