The context here is that in a recent #metoo wave a certain musician had quite a few accusations of sexual misconduct. Following those he was cancelled to host in a big event. This musician then threatened to sue his accusers of slander.

In this tweet Halli (a successful startup founder that recently sold his start up to Twitter) promises to pay legal costs for anyone that needs a legal defense in any upcoming slander case.

Previously Halli has been vocal about disabled rights and accessibility issues in the city of Reykjavík. He also made the local headlines recently when he opted out of filing the taxes for the Twitter acquisition in a tax haven. Opting instead to pay taxes in the country he claimed helped with this success.
