==>“For the first three months, I place each student at a table with a thousand pieces of white paper and a trash can underneath. Every day they have to sit at the table for several hours and write ideas. They put the ideas they like on the right side of the table; the ones they don’t like, they put in the trash. But we don’t throw out the trash. After three months, I only take the ideas from the trash can. I don’t even look at the ideas they liked. Because the trash can is a treasure trove of things they’re afraid to do.”
huh? Maybe they are just bad ideas? For that matter, maybe the good ideas are bad too. But she doesn't even look at them, so how would she even know? Seems a bit presumptuous. Can she read minds or something?
You like her, hate her or are indifferent to her, she does a thing in any case.
It doesn't matter to her how good are they. She looked for ideas that people was afraid of. They are students, she teaches them to be not afraid of ideas. To distinguish good ideas from bad ones, I presume, it the next lesson.
I have a feeling history will forget this type of art or make it a footnote. Beauty and art will continue without modern/post modern ideas. It sounds like mainstream art has/had a clickbait problem.
I'm happy to see Art (not discussed here) is having a resurgence after a decade of 'you need to understand the meaning'.
