I find it irritating that the BBC fails to mention how bad the new UK legislation on the right to repair is. Neither this article nor the one linked in it mention that the UK law excludes smartphones and laptops (https://interestingengineering.com/uk-right-to-repair-law-le...). Two of the main offenders when looking at if from a consumer viewpoint.
