The article gives a nice overview of the possible solutions for regulating Facebook, but it is not very optimistic.

I guess the EU is still our best hope here.

The EU is a blessing.

Sometimes it is a mixed blessing. But with regards to privacy regulations it tries to do some good (but difficult) work.
