Hermes is also the name of a Greek messenger god so potential users of both products (the Mount Olympus IT department, for instance) are likely to be confused.

Seriously, though, it's a really obvious name for a messaging-related project and I don't think Hermes JMS is big enough to have a monopoly on it.

Maybe also not smart to take the same name as the high-end luxury fashion brand [2].
