These people making an absolute killing, and nothing can be done about it.
5 btc taken so far, in addition to earlier profits. This is way more lucrative than ransomware in terms of profits and and not having to worry about law enforcement or tainted crypto. I don't think chain analytics companies or law enforcement are even keeping track of this.
The BTC giveaway scam, either on twitter or youtube, is probably the greatest scam I have ever seen in 15 years . I have never seen anything that even comes close in terms of consistency, proftiabltiy, and impunity. A hedge fund should copy this scam and run it offshore or something given that it is so lucrative and nothing can be done about it .
