If anyone gets ousted from the process, they probably deserve it, for wasting more maintainer time. Nobody is immune from that, not you, not me, not the maintainers, not the BDFL. Expecting the BDFL to be able to have full control and to review every patch is also nonsense that causes the exact same type of issues: https://lwn.net/Articles/393694/
