This is almost certainly fan fiction. The behavior (eg: Jobs' purported focus on himself — 'was it because I was being rude?' — instead of Apple or the industry) seems very out-of-character.
Such a great piece of Steve Jobs fanfiction
I thought the same thing. The story and style of writing just come across absurdly. Does this sound to people like the writing voice of a man nearing fifty in a senior role at apple?
It reads like a kid responding to a writing prompt on Reddit. Small vocabulary, constant “lol”s, too much detail for something that supposedly happened 10+ years before, constantly making references to catch phrases. It’s not even good fanfiction.
>We were walking and it was funny to me absolutely nobody who worked there said hello or acknowledged him - and most people honestly seemed to take awkward turns likely to avoid him.
By statements like that, people who worked at Apple under Steve should be able to tell if this is a true story or not.
I thought I was reading the "I met [celebrity name] in a grocery store" copypasta.
"Then Steve Jobs fired the product manager and everyone in the cafeteria started clapping"
Meaning you think this is fabricated and not true?
‘I was so totally confused lol I said “fine a month”’
Definitely doesn’t sound like a senior member of Apple's staff.
And then everyone clapped
Does this even answer the original question?
Yes it does. You need to scroll down.
It does inasmuch as he says “yes”. Everything else in that answer, fiction or not, doesn’t even say anything about working hard. He can do everything in that passage and still only work four hours a day for all we know.
