Electric cars also consume energy, and that energy consumption is not 100% efficient, so once more, cooling is required to dissipate much of that heat production due to inefficiency.
The grill(e) is here to stay. It may not be as prominent, but there will always need to be one.
It's pointless showing us ICE and electric versions of the same model car showing practically no difference in the grilles. That's because the economies of scale are not there yet, so it's easier to slightly change an existing mass-produced body-shape rather than produce a completely different body-shape for so few electric vehicles (relatively speaking).
