What features are most important when adopting document management software?

I've developed a free open source document manager called Mayan (http://bit.ly/mayan-edms) it already enjoys a good number of deployments, but recently the opportunity of monetising it as SaaS product came up and I was wondering what people look for in this kind of software when deciding to adopt it or not.
