Sergey Brin threatened by Steve Jobs: “Irate call from Steve Jobs”

The outcome of this letter and the ensuing no-poaching policy amongst numerous San Francisco Bay Area tech firms was an antitrust suit and settlement by the US Department of Justice.

Employees are estimated to have lost at least $3 billion in compensation, and sought treble damages of $9 billion.

The case settled for $435 million.

Net gains to the defendants, Adobe, Apple Inc., Google, Intel, Intuit, Pixar, Lucasfilm and eBay, over sixfold the fine.

And much as I enjoy finding fault with Facebook, that company declined to join in the collusion.
