I remember how lax security was at Logan Airport a month before 9/11. I even commented on it to friends and family as I found it quite disturbing.
If cyber security is handled the same lax way with underpaid staff that doesn't give a crap I guess you could compare it to 9/11.
Personal, outsider take: it’s unlikely that US businesses will start spending sufficiently on cybersecurity, because it’s difficult to show ROI on this. The government is correct on treating this as a high priority.
