I only remember the name from the movie "Vidocq" with Gérard Depardieu from 2001.
It was fantasy based on the historic figure. But I liked the visual style of it.
There was a classic French TV series Les Nouvelles Aventures de Vidocq with Claude Brasseur and an excellent cast from La Comédie Française, along with a very catchy theme music on the harpischord by Loussier. I don't know if it's on any streaming service, however.
There's also the first episode (titled "Stopa", or Footprint) of the West German-Czechoslovak (!) series Dobrodružství kriminalistiky (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0562585/, The Adventure of Forensic Science), which is a docudrama anthology of forensic science breakthroughs throughout history (often about the first use of a particular technique to solve a case).
The problem with Vidocq is that the main source of information about him is ... Vidocq.
