Walking in L.A

Nobody walks in LA [1]

What a neat way to remember something. Nothing flashy, just simple maps and pictures and HTML. I've never been to LA, but it's cool to see it from a walking point of view, and not just the overhead pictures of highways that I'm used to seeing.

I just looked through the pictures from the walks on the front page. What a dismal built environment. Do people not realise how poor it is?

People might also be interested in the Inman 300 (sort of an urban version of the PCT or Appalachian Trail that hits 300-ish public stairs in LA). It's been discussed on HN a few times
