`stg publish` was cumbersome to use and I wrote simple bash script:

    cat ~/bin/stg-update 
    #!/bin/bash
    set -e
    current=$(stg top)
    git push -f origin HEAD:$current

It pushes changes into remote branch with same name as a current patch.
