Can Removing Highways Fix America’s Cities?

It feels refreshing to see cities like Rochester, New York take on a rather large project in 2014 and complete it by 2021. Gives me hope that other cities can follow suit and be reborn as human first and car second.

Came across the ironic comment on Twitter today “We tend to forget the intense bombing raid on Kansas City in the second world war”.

That (https://twitter.com/lennartnout/status/1397893839038332928) was about a photo of part of Kansas City now, and, I guess, early twentieth century that shows how much work there is to do on this.

We have a very good case study for this: Boston (big dig). It works, it makes the city more desirable, then people start wanting to pay more to live there and the newspapers will start complying about gentrification.
