I am sure they will love charging when they could be getting a fare. A taxi driver can easily drive 5-600 miles a day if operating in suburbia. Can EVs keep up?
Those are fleets that can rotate vehicles while others are charging, though.
Having 20 minutes downtime is very common. Plenty of time to charge.
How widespread are charging ports? After every ride I assume they'd have to go find one, if they don't have another ride lined up.
So the drivers who barely break even will have to purchase new vehicles that are on average $19k more expensive? Let's assume there is enough charging infrastructure in place, CA is hardly a poster child for reliable electricity distribution.
