Download free public domain paintings, posters and illustrations

Nice! Adding it to my mega site of free image sites for blogging list.

I searched pug and it's very interesting to see what a pug looked like 200 years ago.

I also searched for rocket and have no idea what I'm seeing.

Great site, thanks for sharing it.

I love botanical illustrations so searched for that. Instead of showing me the search results page, it took me to this image: https://artvee.com/dl/view-of-charlottenborg-palace-in-copen...

It should have taken me here: https://artvee.com/c/botanical/

I wished they'd filled in all of the metadata so I could find the artists from my backgrounds folder in 5 years.

This is really cool. Does anyone have any suggestions for a reputable printing company for creating prints of these? I see the site links to Canvaspop but I'd be hoping to find someone that could do giclée prints or similar, rather than only canvas.

This is third time I've seen artvee posted on here. I'm happy to see it again! I freaking love the user experience of this website, it's so simple yet so intuitive. The other websites I went to have horrible search features or display the images in really tiny thumbnails.

This is fantastic, thank you for posting it!

I like the business model of offering to print it via vistaprint (which might give them a cut).

How is this funded?

A little tangential question - but is there a time at which art becomes public domain? 50 years after its creation? Longer?
