How MDMA and Psilocybin Became Hot Investments

I'm overall optimistic for a world with accessible psychedelics, mdma and others though. Like imagine a world where there are alternatives to just drinking with your friends. That's all we do, drink beer, drink wine, make cocktails, go to bars to socialize. Drunk people have so many negative externalizes. They're noisy, rude, sloppy. Maybe the campsite next to you is full of people using mushrooms instead of drinking beers, leaving cans all over and yelling all night. Never mind even some of the positive mindsets these substances can give someone.
I'm skeptical of some of these investments though. I think once they're legal for recreational use (I kind of believe that's what most really want, medical uses are a way to normalize use and get there) interest will drop off quick and people will just self medicate or whatever or they won't be these mystical taboo things.
Agreed.
Because, MDMA has a heck of a comedown. Not that I’d ever do an illegal drug, because that is just a moral wrong in a deontological sense, and I am a perfect citizen. But, if I had danced with these devil drugs, yikes, Molly is not an every day drug.
Marijuana as an investment? Sure. That’s a plausible every-day-use drug. A beer with dinner, or a vape before bed. Consistent demand. Ecstasy? No way. That next day or two where your brain is scraping along with diminished neurotransmitters can be just brutal. And though I have less experience with psilocybin, the nausea alone would seem to limit the frequent recreational use.
Again, all theoretical, drugs are bad, didn’t you people see Cartoon All-Stars To The Rescue?
Ann Shulgin, wife of Alexander (Sasha) Shulgin, discoverer of MDMA, had this[1] to say about frequent MDMA use:
"When you use MDMA more often, I would say, more than 4 times a year you begin to notice that the experience is beginning to drop down. ... It's losing its magic.
College kids who were using it about once a month or even more often found out within a year that they couldn't get that magic back. Some people have decided to go off MDMA completely for a year or more and see if the old magical experience returns. For some people it does.
For me, I used MDMA once a week for an entire year, and did my writing of PIKHAL on that. That was my writing material. At that time we didn't realize this about the overuse of MDMA. I still cannot get anything out of taking MDMA. I've kind of burned that one out.
So I always warn people, first of all, make sure you have MDMA not something else, and take it no more often than four times a year maximum."
Incidentally, what passes of "molly" on the street is often not MDMA... sometimes this leads to fatalities.[2]
Test your drugs, people!

Battery?
Please forgive my ignorance, but what are those?
1 - How do you know you're getting real, pure DMT from such sources?
2 - What's the risk of getting busted from buying DMT openly like that and compounding the crime by having an illegal substance sent through the mail?
Incidentally, it's possible to extract DMT from natural sources.
People are also making them at home pretty easily
