My favorite instance of this phenomenon is when I get a product with a label on it that says "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer."
That warning is posted at the entrance to essentially every building in California.
In Silicon Valley, that's often correct...
I'm curious about who holds the rights to that image. I'm a little surprised I've never seen a version of it adapted as a t-shirt, it's so ubiquitous here.
I'm mostly annoyed by the anthropomorphization of the state.
