More Than 400 Classic Korean Films Free Online Thanks to the Korean Film Archive

Koreans make great movies. I saw a Korean film program at AGNSW in Sydney in 2006/7 (Wednesday and Saturday nights, free) with a bunch of films by Kim Ki Duk and others (Three Iron, Spring Summer Autumn Winter, and a couple others the names of which I can't remember now), and they all left a deep impression on me. Really deep and complex emotionality, and novel stories. I really loved them so much, it was a great experience to have this free film program and these movies from another culture. I feel so lucky to have had that public gallery in my hometown that made such great contributions like this.

To what extent are these films either dubbed in English or have English subtitles?

Being an expert in modern Korean cinema I looked through the films. Even if there are plenty of 1997-2020 films, there's not a single recommended film. The good films started 1997, after the democratic revolution. Hungary, Czech and Russia have similar archives of their old classics online, and they are much better from these periods.

I’m a huge fan of Korean drama. They often have great acting and stories with a lot of plot twists. Netflix has a big selection.
