For all the hype about NFT riches, crypto speculation, and asset bubbles, it would seem as if many of these over-hyped investments have performed worse than the plain ol' S&P 500 or Nasdaq index fund.

The nice thing about large cap growth stocks , especially in tech, is I know I have a good shot at making money over a 3 to 6-month time frame. Even with Covid, stocks came roaring back to make new highs less than a year later. With crypto, who knows.It took Bitcoin 3 years to recover from the 2018 crash, and the next time it crashes, it may never recover, like gold and silver in 1980. I like the certainty of stocks compared to the uncertainty of crypto.

If you bought bitcoin on march 8, you would be up 10% now. If you bought it on march 15, just a week later, you would be down 10% now. And this says nothing about different strategies (holding vs day trading, etc). Very easy to cherrypick data to support whatever narrative you want.

Stocks crash too, just look at last year.

If you like safe investments, then choose safe investments. There are investor profile questionnaires that you can take online to determine what your level of risk tolerance is and what portfolio balance would be the most appropriate to you. Nobody cares what _your_ level of risk tolerance is. It's a personal thing and it's different for everyone.

Hmm, you should look up the price history of Bitcoin.

It crashes a lot. And every time, it recovers to eventually put up a new high several multiples higher.

Bitcoin is still only 10% of gold's market cap. It still has room to grow.

True. But if you bought $100 worth of DOGE a few months ago, you could have had about $50,000 worth of DOGE today.

At one point I had a "balance" of over 2 million dogecoin with one of those pools that never paid out. I actually did mine about 0.5 million that i got to spend on steam tokens a couple years later.

based on my past history, expect 3d printing to be a big deal sometime around 2028, finally.
