Loathsome mentality and I will not be visiting.
Perverse at best, perverted at worst.
I guarantee it's more like "how dare we make fun of us."
Well..it does also show that there are a hell of a lot of very silly comments on HN, if you go looking for them. Not quite Literally Unbelievable, but some of them aren't that distant. I kept reading for like an hour, until the reality of it was undeniable. But yes, I agree there's something very unpleasant about living like that. Luckily we don't have to!
For example this one: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26082603
It basically says you need to be careful when talking to people on the Internet because you can be doxed even if you change your username. You can argue with this, but its' definitely not a "LOL" comment. There are many similar ones - not ridiculous, just debatable.

Reddit has become increasing hostile to its web users in order to push them to install their apps.
There’s still occasionally something funny but they’re mostly boring to me now. They’re always the same strawmen with the same jokes and insults and never touch on what I see as the bigger issues with HN are.
Please write a blog post about that and submit!
I don't think I'll be going back though. Whereas sometimes HN gets so much like n-gate's version of it, or even moreso, that I feel impelled to go to n-gate to feel saner!
(I can't give a link for...certain reasons)
Don't get me wrong, I love HN enough so that I can even appreciate criticism of it, if that makes sense.
