Sony handled the situation better than pop-up box pioneer X10 did. X10 pretty much invited you to buy their cameras to hide covertly in dressing rooms. When they got called out on it, they had the nerve to run ads along the lines of "We never said you should use these to spy on people" even though their earlier ads certainly implied that was the reason to buy them. Their obnoxious popup ads already gave them a bad image so they weren't going to get the benefit of the doubt when disavowing their peeping tom cameras.
