Show HN: Stripe Sync Engine – Sync Stripe to Postgres
github.com
github.com
- creates a `stripe` schema in a postgres database. - creates relevant tables/columns (eg, `customer` table, `products` table ...) - listens to stripe webhooks - upserts data into the postgres database when Stripe issues a webhook
We built this to solve a few problems at Supabase. We just released billing and now our data is split between our Postgres database and stripe. We use Redash, and need a way to "join" stripe data onto our product data. We now ship the data to our main database so that we have a single-source of truth.
It's very basic for now, but we like to build in public. We're releasing it early to (hopefully) gather contributors.
Any reason you didn't use Singer or PipelineWise, with https://github.com/singer-io/tap-stripe as the source?
Your solution has the advantage that it's real-time. And I guess Stripe will retry webhooks if your endpoint is temporarily down.
But it seems like extra maintenance effort vs. a launching Singer with a cron script, or installing PipelineWise.

Agreed - I'll try it out or use them in tandem - Singer for initial load, this repo for keeping up to date. Thanks for sending this through
Looks very promising, and was fast to get set up
