Macy’s store employees score victory in challenging self-checkout in mobile app

Not quite about the obvious. It's not about loss of jobs to automation, but about losing commissions.

Presumably commissioned employees are part of the store's differentiator from Amazon. So they'd better find a way to compensate them according to the contracts they originally signed.
