The 14 day policy cited in the article is wrong. It is more than 14 days of international remote work.

So Google recruiters are telling interviewees in the US that they do not need to move to an office location?

From what I understand, you still need to relocate if you get a job offer.

You'll need to relocate after September. Permanent WFH is currently not offered by Google.

But the "you need to formally apply for every remote day and 14 is the absolute cap per year" is not the case.

In one contiguous block too. I think you can do it more than once.
