Apple commits $430B in US investments over five years

The timing and the writing. Why am I reading this as a message to government:

"Apple is the largest taxpayer in the US and has paid almost $45 billion in domestic corporate income taxes over the past five years alone."

Apple is doing its part, dont break our App Store or charge us with monopoly etc?

Am I being too cynical?

I find it pretty weird whenever I read about company news on one of these corporate blogs. The writing and layout feels like they're hoping people will think it's a third party source and not notice the URL
