A similar story occurred from the pursuing end in the 1980’s South West African Border War.

A special vehicle based South African unit called Koevoet(crowbar) was unable to capture an infiltrator who was on foot over hundreds of kilometres and a number of days.

The infiltrator discarded hypodermics, used for injecting meth, along the way.

It is an amazing chemical compound, but one with horrific negative consequences, even when carefully prescribed.

So what happened to the rest of his unit?
