I don't see Qwant on here, I tend to see better results on it than Google.

I created this site in about 2 hours from an idea I had. I like using alternative search engines but I often forget the names and don't get into the habit. I would also like to use them at work for coding related queries. So I built this simple page as a starting point to choose the various 'alt' search engines.

Happy to add your suggestions for more search engines.

This is designed for privacy focused people, and/or people who want to slowly become less reliant on big tech companies.

I still use Google for a hell of a lot of things, but this is one less thing I need to use Google for on a day to day basis.

I use the Redirector extension to mitigate the problem of "getting into the habit" by automation: https://einaregilsson.com/redirector/

It redirects all my googling to Startpage so I don't have to change my habits at all.

I recently discovered Privacy Redirect which apparently took the idea a step further by providing presets that redirect visits to popular web services to their privacy friendly alternatives by default and thus mitigates the need to set up a redirector extension yourself: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/privacy-redir...

Why not simply change the search provider in your browser?

For the redirection side of thing I agree that could be useful for someone wanting to redirect YouTube links to an Invidious instance, and Twitter links to a Nitter instance, etc.
