Russia is losing its grip on Crimea due to its current water crisis [1]. Unless Russia can restore the flow of water on the North Crimean Canal it will have to retreat and lose face.

Is this a NATO-sponsored think tank?

Is this an FSB-sponsored Russian sock puppet?

It was a genuine question. Check for yourself https://emerging-europe.com/emerging-europe-council/

The link doesn't make a case for NATO or Ukraine.

It's the Daily Mirror. A tacky semi-literate UK tabloid. Not exactly a reliable news source.

Sure, possibly that means the article should viewed a bit skeptically, but ideally that would be done with any source. Here's a parallel article from the BBC a day earlier: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56720589

At a glance I didn't see any discrepancies between them. Do you? If there are actual problems with the article (beyond the reputation of the source) you can email hn@ycombinator.com and probably convince Dan to change the URL.
