Ask HN: How to automate copy most recent file in folder to clipboard on macOS?

What's the best way to get the most recently added file to a folder and add it to the clipboard?

I send screenshots to a particular folder, and regularly need to drag the file with the most recent timestamp into a window--though paste would probably do.

Should this be an AppleScript? Maybe Keyboard Maestro macro? Am I missing out on some other great utility?
