Ask HN: Would you like to live on this planet?

It was men's ultimate desire for ages. A planet with no women. Only men and army of "human-like" robots for all kinds of things. Every need physical, sexual or otherwise is taken care of. Every fanatasy is programmable. And there is no chaos that feminine energy brings. It is peaceful out here. There is fresh food waiting for you every hour. There is "robotic" companion waiting to please you in every possible way. Men was never happy like this since big bang. There is no divorce, breakup , cheating, teenage daugther problems and lot of drama. There is no "right now I love you but tomorrow who knows". There is nothing to worry about. There are factories to make babies- but only boy if you want to start family.

It was careful decision . Logical solution that bought end of pain and suffering of all men. This is planet of Men. Welcome.

What do you think? Do you want to join this planet? What else you want there?

P.S: Please this is not hate against women. I just want peace for men:)

On a meta level, order alone and no chaos means no order at all. You need some chaos to compare order against.

More particularly, let's continue your thought experiment. There is sexual desire in men still right? so they made sex robots. Let's assume all sex robots are equally good. In other words all are mediocre. Then one person adds a feature to this robot to make it exponentially better. Now billions of men on this planet line up to have sex with this new robot. Then those at the back of the line will start getting angry and call it unfair. And truly, it is unfair. This is chaos again.

So see what happened, one person added more order and it immediately caused more chaos. And they seem to be a natural byproduct of life: to live means to strive for the better and that means exercising your will and that means exacting some order here and spreading some chaos there. Also, you cannot create chaos without order, because the act of willing something is of order, even if that will is chaos.

I do feel obliged to tell you about something nuanced here. It is true that chaos is feminine, but this doesn't mean women are chaotic. Women are humans just like men, they "have" femininity, which is, on average, higher than men. Meaning they are more emotionally flexible, they are more forgiving, it is the mother who will forgive your transgressions. While masculinity is more rigid, less forgiving, it is the father that will punish you. These are all averages. As Jung says, averages take the sample and strip off everything unique about the individuals and present something that does NOT exist. So I am sure masculinity and femininity are variable in both men and women.

If you want to explore your idea more you can journal about it; write a make believe journal entry every night of your day in this planet. But also analyze the effects of your actions there carefully.

In summary, you cannot get rid of chaos without annihilating life itself and feminine does not mean women.

The standard psychoanalysis for this would go something like: you'd like to "return to the womb" and separate out some functions that women could fulfill (cook, sex for pleasure, reproduction, etc.) into ambient functions of the environment as opposed to attach to individual women.

It's probably more plausible that you could do something to egg precursor cells to make women reproduce by parthenogenesis so she can have an infantile fantasy of endless tea, tribadism, and polite manners.

I'd say this.

My wife teaches people to ride horses for a living, something she could not succeed at if her balance was on the side of chaos over order.

I have known also women who are outright psychotic (e.g. bipolar, schizophrenic, schizotypal) even to the point of "went to prison for attempted homicide" and "spread chaos by charging at you with a knife" and having a mom like that really does do a lot of harm.

You might try joining the Marines, working as a roughneck in oil drilling or some other gender unbalanced career

> What do you think? ... What else you want there? My wife.

Well, I don't think a planet with no women will survive because women and sexual desire has been the biggest motivator of humanity since forever. In a world without women, either we are going to get bored and stagnate playing games or we are going to wage wars and end the world. Men don't struggle because of women, men struggle because they settle with the first woman they seduce. Settling with the first job that would want you will also make you miserable.

Strive for the most suitable woman for you, strive for the best job for you, strive for the best lifestyle for you, then you are going to be happy.

I for one, would not to live in a world without my wife, since she is a way better companion than any man can be and I am so happy to have an amazing companion.

I think this a "be careful what you wish for" scenario. I suspect, anyone who desired this and managed to achieve it would begin to regret it very soon.
