Do Technical Writing and Creative Writing have analogs in writing software?
Technical Writing and Creative Writing are both forms of writing, but they presumably differ as well, because we give them different labels. I feel that there are different kinds of writing software that parallel the differences in the different forms of writing. Something along the lines of whether your audience is the compiler or humans reading the code? I'm not entirely sure. And my hypothesis is that many of the rifts we feel with fellow developers often derives how we value these two disciplines in our code, and what our goals are. Is there any merit to this line of thinking?
