He used to have his own Wikipedia article, but now if you try to find it you're redirected to the "Temple of Set" article.
The Temple of Set is an occult initiatory order founded in 1975. A new religious movement and form of Western esotericism, the Temple espouses a religion known as Setianism, whose practitioners are called Setians.
The Temple was established in the United States in 1975 by Michael Aquino, an American political scientist, military officer, and a high-ranking member of Anton LaVey's Church of Satan.

Aquino possessed a P.h.D. in political science and this formal education was reflected in the way that he presented his arguments, in which he draws broadly upon Western philosophy and science.

"... A three-year-old girl, reportedly molested at the Army's Presidio day-care Center in San Francisco, had fingered Aquino as the same 'Mikey' who photographed her in the nude and sexually abused her in a black-painted room with a cross on the ceiling. On August 14, 1987, Aquino's home was raided by police detectives, FBI agents, and members of the Army's Criminal Investigation Division. Several carloads of 'evidence' were seized and what Aquino called a 'modern witch-hunt in the most classical sense,' but no charges were ever filed against Aquino or any member of his church. In April 1989, Aquino filed formal complaints against to SFPD detectives involved in the raid, and police commissioners sustained the complaints in November 1990. Detective Sandi Gallant was 'counseled' to avoid derogatory comments on Aquino's church or lifestyle, while Detective Glen Pamfiloff got a written reprimand for his conduct on the 1987 raid."

"We are fortunate that the Auschwitz taboo prevents people from looking too closely at... Nazi Germany, or from experimenting with any of its regular governmental doctrines. Because they work. They are the essence of true political power. Anti-Semitism is irrelevant to them... It is ironically true that a right-wing backlash in the United States – which is what the neo-Nazis are hoping for – would wipe them out first. If an American Fuehrer does appear, he won't be wearing a uniform with a swastika armband. He will wear a business suit, and he will be calling popular attention to the patriotic virtues in 1776."
(Michael Aquino, taken from Arthur Lyons' Satan Wants You, pg. 174)
Also worth reviewing the genesis and activities of the False Memory Syndrome Foundation, which for years pushed a now-debunked position that children are commonly implanted with false memories of abuse by their parents and therapists. It had such leading lights as Alan Dershowitz (now accused by rape by one of Jeffrey Epstein's victims) and Louis Jolyon West, one of the foremost researchers in the CIA's MKULTRA mind control program. It collapsed in 2019, a good review of its history is here: https://news.isst-d.org/the-rise-and-fall-of-the-false-memor...
ISSTD appears to promote a wide variety of crazziness including government mind control and the illuminati.
Feel free to provide a persuasive source that it did in fact happen that doesn't also believe in the Easter Bunny.
lol ok then
> Trying to draw connections to such conspiracy theory favorites as MKULTRA, the CIA, Epstein, etc isn't persuasive either.
I'm not "trying," the connections are there. The FMSF was a key player in getting the media to adopt a standard line from the early 1990s onward that any allegations of organized child abuse must be false and concocted. And cases like Epstein's are relevant to a thread about child abuse and questions around whether it is real and whether we can rely on "successful prosecutions" to confirm or deny it.
> ISSTD appears to promote a wide variety of crazziness including government mind control and the illuminati.
I searched in vain for a reference to Illuminati on the ISSTD website, do you have a link?
> ... that doesn't also believe in the Easter Bunny.
Ah yes, the old "all conspiracy theories are the same as Flat Earth" trope.

>Aveni, a Christian psychotherapist who professes a belief in demonic possession, is the current chair of the ISSTD’s “Ritual Abuse/Mind Control Special Interest Group,” where the remaining paranoiacs from the Satanic Panic fringe still exchange lurid supernatural horror stories pieced together primarily from the “recovered memories” of those alleged to hold multiple personalities.
Unfortunately this is verifiable.
Hard to take seriously people who give talks with titles like
" “Working Through the Traumatic Memories of Mind-Controlled Clients,"
In short they are incompetent crazy people promoting theories that are nearly as crazy as the idea that lizard people secretly run the world and cherry picking the least crazy nuggets from their detritus is about as mentally healthy as it would be physically healthy to live on the undigested nuts found in the feces of monkeys.
In theory if you carefully wash them you may survive but there is more nourishing food.
Organized Abuser Groups’ Use of Supernatural Powers to Intimidate Victims

This is just not real. It's on the same level as qanon.
I used to live and work near Manhattan Beach (where McMartin was located) and it was obviously an irrational panic from the very beginning! The moment they started talking about "secret tunnels to torture chambers" it went off the deep end - you could drive by the location and without even having a Civil Engineering degree see that it was 100% BS.
Just like lives are ruined by Woke today, so the completely innocent McMartins were ruined and destroyed as well.
However, the vast, vast majority of the folks being harassed are just garden-variety pagans. But honestly, its none of people's business.
No one that's pagan is out there doing these outrageously awful things people are claiming. Those are predators. Target predators. Don't target pagan people.
