Does retainer mean less than my full salary? If so, I don't see why I would plan to take a pay cut on-purpose. What's the upside here? Do I also lose benefits during that down time?
Thanks. The idea is that you're getting a retainer equivalent to a mid-market salary outside Bay Area - and then get Bay Area level compensation (+30-50%) while on an active job.
