Can Sled Dogs and Wild Mustangs Work Together?
In a very reductionist mood, I observe two overly simplified employee behaviors. Some people are like sled dogs. They love to be put in a harness, pointed in a direction, and told to run. And others are more like wild mustangs, who value autonomy and creativity and self direction.
I'm observing that its hard for the two behaviors to work together. Can they? How does a small team, where some are sled dogs, and some are mustangs, play off of each other's strengths so that both are happy and feel useful?
