I don't get the reference, and google doesn't help.
It's the SHA-1 hash of "usethesource"
The magic code from the linked post is sha1 for "usethesource\n", the one I gave is for the same string without the trailing "\n" (which is here probably due to a `echo usethesource | sha1sum` instead of `echo -n ...`).
