Given how frequently Searx instances get banned by the search engines they use, it would be interesting to have a "meta-Searx" client that tries different Searx instances for the selected engines until none of the engines error out.
Interesting meta, but how to be sure the random instances aren't honeypots, (and) or altering results?
A preferences menu that lets users select/specify Searx instances, similar to the existing preferences menus.
I come away really disappointed with efforts for "meta search engines". There's so much more that should be possible. There should be a way to surface information regarding the results to that they can be combined (e.g. provide raw tf/idf scores, or expose the difference/bias between the results from different engines). I don't just want an API over triggering queries, I want an API that helps interpret/debias/rerank results.
