Our suburban/rural county borders 2 wealthy, metro counties. Nearly all of our new home construction is along that southern border and is being filled with new folks, moving up from the south.

Meanwhile, the majority of our county is facing a mounting housing crisis. The few available rentals are crapholes and/or priced absurdly high. The same goes for home sales.

For the first time, there are no homes here for the non-wealthy. Nor will there be any anytime soon.
