This is pretty interesting. He should also consider pitching this to Canadian Tire. They buy a lot of unique products that are specific to Canada and made by Canadians. I purposely go to CT specifically for those kinds of products, as do many of their shoppers.
I think they'd do amazingly well there, and they'd get a huge distribution network.
