Ask HN: Resources on developing political simulation games?

I am looking for resources on the algorithms and logic behind developing political simulation games. Note that I am not interested in the graphics or audio aspects of such games. What I am more interested is how to define the different "agents" in the game, their state and interactions as well as how to simulate their behaviour over time.

The only material I have come across till now is - https://sites.google.com/site/howtodosimulationgames/home

Are there any recommendations from the HN community?
