What podcast hosting provides the best analytics?

1 pointnonoesp8 comments

Hi, Hacker News!

I used to host my podcast files and check the hosting's AWStats to track listens, then moved to DigitalOcean Spaces — which provides no analytics at all — and have to stick with tracking web plays with Google Analytics, and rely on the stats provided by Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

One of the main reasons to move to a podcast hosting platform is richer analytics, and I'm trying to figure out which one is best.

Which one would you recommend and why? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hey Nono!

I’m Mark, CEO at Captivate. We provide IAB certified, in-depth analytics for your podcasts (you can host multiple with us for one cost) and we’re adding new analytics data very very frequently.

Happy to walk you through it anytime!

Mark

Hi, Marc! Thanks for sharing.

Can you elaborate a bit on what "IAB-certified analytics" means?

How would your service compare to other platforms such as Blubrry, Buzzsprout, Transistor, Castos, Podbean, Simplecast, or Resonate?

I'd love a walkthrough.

How can we connect?

Hey Nono!

We love all those guys and know them all really well, great people.

Captivate has a lot of unique features and approaches and generally we’re all doing good work to help the podcaster!

Drop me a mail on Mark (at) rebelbasemedia.io and we can get deep into it together?

Mark :)

Oh also, check out all the features:

Meant to add that :)

Check out captivate.fm

I’m not affiliated with them, but it’s my buddy’s business and they’re doing really great things over there.

Really appreciated!

Here's another one I found › https://omnystudio.com

Omny is decent, owned by Triton Digital - good people. Not as consumer focussed as a Captivate, for example, but solid!
