Ask HN: Midlife – Is it wise to leave finance IT job for a FAANG?

I'm in a good position (VP level) in a financial institution IT org. Promotion seems hard at this level (5 years or so). I was offered a high paying FAANG job as senior individual contributor doing SRE. The money if about 50% more, nice relocation proposition, other perks. But given my age I wonder if there is life after 50 in FAANGs. I'm over 40, and after a rollercoster career I've learned to value some stability
