Disney is one of the major custodians of America's warm and fuzzy childhood memories with all the cross industry IPs they have made over the decades. Combine that with Disney investing billions in new IP like Marvel or Star Wars and all the possible synergies between their old and new IPs and their success was more or less guaranteed.

I think once the movie industry totally abandons the movie theatre first mindset, streaming services will become industry powerhouses that will define movies and tv series for decades to come.
