So “dumb political pseudo-witticism used exclusively by idiots” is the new threshold for censorship? We are apparently much further down the slippery slope of the post-1/6 Great Deplatforming than I had realized. And how many other instances of subtle Big Tech censorship has nobody caught yet?

I don't think that Urban Dictionary meets the definition of "Big Tech".

Never in history have the people that ban books, words and thoughts been the "good guys". Why are those in power so frightened of having their power questioned?

The left has a long history of wanting to win by default, rather than winning by actually having better ideas or better explanations. You can see this as far back as the Scopes Monkey Trial. (The right has their own history of censorship as well, for even longer.)

But January 6 changed a lot of peoples' perspectives. They saw that lies can cause massive damage, far beyond just the lives of the people who believe them. They saw that the truth doesn't always work as an antidote to the lies. They saw it spread all over the news.

I'm against censorship. But after January 6, I'm not sure how to answer someone who is pro-censorship.
