I would love to be able to pay for a professional GPS where I'm not the product.

Unfortunately, what Waze has going for it is the community aspect, I don't see a way that could be replaced in a paid product.

So Google may be ruining it further, but I can't see a way forward for a commercially viable "good" driving gps product, which is either a great opportunity for someone to build one, or just too bad.
