Ask HN: How do you get 1st coding job in NYC or SF without a degree or exp.?

I googled your question, and doing that turned up plenty of blog posts with advice on how you might proceed. Here's one such blog post, but I'd read a bunch of articles before you spring into action on this:

With no exp or degree you will likely be looking at unpaid internships. Even then, unless you have a friend on the inside you are likely SOL. Outside of these markets, you might have better luck though.
